Due to the radiation and its effect on the human body, there were restrictions on the distance at which you can watch TV, and restrictions on the time during which it was possible, relatively safely, to enjoy your favorite TV shows. Safe, it was considered the distance of 4-5 m to the TV screen, given the very small diagonals of CRT televisions, it is difficult to call such a TV viewing convenient.

A lot of time has passed since the revolution of CRT televisions and completely new technologies Plasma, LCD (liquid crystals), LED (LED backlighting) have entered the stage. With the exception of plasma TVs, which, like CRT TVs, had a high level of radiation, LCD and LED TVs lack such radiation, because they work on a completely different principle of image output.

 

 

Instead of a cathode ray tube bombarded by electrons, liquid crystal televisions operate using light waves that pass through the RGB matrix of the screen. The absence of electron radiation almost eliminated the need to move away from the TV to a safe distance. Now with new technologies, the distance at which you can watch TV can be anything.

All of the above is intended to dispel the opinion of the regularity of the distance from which you can watch TV and its diagonal, because the radiation area and the safe distance makes sense only in the case of CRT televisions, and this is history.

 

But there is an important point!

An important point mentioned above is the screen resolution. The fact is that if a TV with a large diagonal, for example, 55 inches, has a screen resolution of FULL HD (1920x1080 pixels), then when you watch the TV quite close, about 1 meters, you can see pixels on the screen.

But given that, as a rule, they watch TV from a distance of 1,5-2 m, it is very difficult to see them from these distances. In addition, televisions with a diagonal of up to 40 inches now have FULL HD resolution, televisions with a larger diagonal already have Ultra HD 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels).

 

 

How to choose the diagonal of the TV screen? The answer is simple: the more the better. If you have the opportunity to buy a TV with a diagonal of 40 inches - that's great! If you can buy tv with 80 inches - it's even better. But watch the TV screen resolution, electronics up to 50 inches may have FULL HD resolution, for such diagonals the Ultra HD 4K resolution will be too much, because it will be impossible to notice the difference.

 

 

But TVs from 52-55 inches and above should already have Ultra HD 4K screen resolution, because with lower resolution on a large diagonal, graininess will be noticeable when watching TV closely.
