Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan are the coolest and most desirable electric cars on the planet. Powerful and sporty sedans have no analogs in the world. Millions of car owners dream of them. And only a few (or hundreds) manage to “ride” them. And now, the legendary pair of sports cars has a competitor – Lotus Type 133. Or rather, it will appear very soon. As the sales start is planned for 2023.

The method of manufacturing the sports sedan has attracted interest, which was quick to be announced in the media. British engineers will be involved in the development. And production (including assembly and testing) is planned to be organized in China. An English brand. The whole world is already used to the fact that English cars have impeccable quality and are assembled only by hand. And production in China. Notably, Lotus confidently states that Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S are direct competitors. Even before assembling a test model, they are already convincing the whole world of this.
In fact, everything is simpler than it seems. The bankrupt company Lotus was bought by the Chinese brand Geely. To retain the clientele, which is skeptical about Chinese auto industry, a French company Alpine has been involved in the project. True Brits, of course, try to dismiss the Lotus brand. And British fans shout on all social networks about the upcoming victory over Porsche and Tesla.
According to specifications, Lotus Type 133 is expected to have a power of 600 horsepower. To compete with the declared rivals, it needs to accelerate to 100 km/h in 3 seconds. And the maximum speed should be at least 250 kilometers per hour. It is too early to talk about the range. If by the end of 2022 the issue with manufacturing new types of higher-capacity batteries is resolved, Lotus will provide information on this matter.
