News leaked to the media about the release of the “Next Generation Sprinter” delighted Ukrainian drivers. After all, the Mercedes van is considered a popular vehicle in Ukraine. In terms of reliability for transporting passengers and cargo over the country’s bumpy roads, it has no competitors.
Next Generation Sprinter in Mercedes Garage
Mercedes-Benz has added the third-generation van to its lineup. The debut of the new model took place in the German city of Duisburg. According to media reviews, fans of the “Sprinter” brand liked its appearance, technical specifications, and equipment. Especially pleased was the electric-powered model, which Germans planned to release in 2019.
In the Sprinter vans offered on the European market in 2018, classic 2- and 3-liter diesel engines with capacities of 115-180 horsepower will be installed. The Germans decided not to remove the “Sprinter” vehicles with rear-wheel drive from the market, so buyers have the same options as before. However, they decided to modernize the transmission, offering future owners a choice between a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 9-speed automatic.
Buyers will be offered 6 body variants. Differences include payload capacity, length, and exterior appearance of the cabin. Mercedes-Benz representatives assured fans that the Sprinter would become a constructor, where it is easy to assemble a thousand versions of the same vehicle by selecting different components. This approach will appeal to customers.
The “Sprinter” is packed with electronics that monitor vehicle components and can transmit collected information to a coordination device. Precise location of the van, fuel level in the tank, and the condition of mechanisms will interest freight carriers who want to control drivers, goods, and valuables.
