It is not yet clear whether the new owner will release photo equipment and what he is going to do with the Olympus brand.

It is noteworthy that the famous Japanese brand did not have literally one year to mark its centenary. The company was registered in 1921, and ceased to exist in 2020. The reason was a steady drop in sales. There is no need to explain why the whole industry suffers losses. Smartphones are killing the market for quality photographic equipment. And these are still flowers. It is possible that other Japanese brands will follow Olympus.

Photos are stored in gigabytes on mobile devices or in the cloud, and are simply forgotten by users after several years.
