The transition to Socket 1700 is postponed due to DDR5

Intel's presentation of the new chipsets and processors was timely. Only the industry giant provided the digging product. Dozens of test labs and enthusiasts unanimously announced the inefficiency of DDR5 memory. This means that we need to wait a little while the manufacturer finds a flaw in the system and fixes his mistakes.

There are processors for Socket 1700, but there is no effect

 

Regarding the new crystals of the Alder Lake family, IT specialists have no questions to the manufacturer. The tests carried out, especially for the work of the cores, demonstrate high performance in operation. And AMD fans can smoke bamboo, even with overclocked processors. But in the work of the processor-memory there is no efficiency in comparison with DDR4. And this is a subtle hint that Socket 1700 v2 motherboards are waiting for us.

Considering that many brands do not have mounts for CPU cooling systems for Socket 1700, we can wait. Perhaps, by the beginning of 2022, the situation with the operation of the DDR5 memory bus will be corrected. And there is no point in buying an updated Intel DDR4 platform now. This is simply unreasonable. It's easier to endure 2-3 months and buy working hardware at a reasonable price.
