VONTAR C1: Cooler for TV Box and Router
In fact, this is a standard 80 mm fan equipped with a USB port instead of the standard 2-pin connector for the motherboard. For easy air intake from below, small plastic legs are provided. The top part (for installing equipment) has rubber pads to prevent vibration transmission.
During operation, there are no complaints about the fan. It reliably blows air onto the bottom of the set-top box or router. However, for better efficiency, the cooled device should have a grille for air passage from below. And, accordingly, slotted openings on the sides to remove heated air from the equipment. If the TV box or network equipment is in a tightly closed case (without holes), then the efficiency will be minimal. In such cases, it is better to buy a more advanced cooling system.
In other cases, VONTAR C1: Cooler for TV Box and Router demonstrates excellent results in operation. Considering the price, the device is indispensable for cooling oversized equipment. It can be used with heating mobile devices of any class. For example, with phones and tablets, which heat up significantly during fast charging.
VONTAR C1 also has some drawbacks. The legs of the device slide on any surface. It is better to wrap them with stretch tape or stick rubber feet. The case with the cooler is a single construction. After the fan fails, the entire unit will have to be discarded.
