Therefore, the Xiaomi Redmi car immediately attracted the attention of buyers worldwide.
And what is the appeal – a regular road vehicle, you might say, and be wrong. Companies that stepped into the 21st century with technological innovations (computers, mobile, and household appliances) have 100% filled their cars with the latest “smart” electronics. And such an approach attracts people living in step with the times.
Xiaomi Redmi Car: What Kind of Beast Is It
A half-ton hybrid station wagon with 143 hp and a price of $13,000. The closest competitor in the price range is the updated Lada Niva, which was presented by AvtoVAZ at the end of 2018. It’s clear that comparing the best-selling Russian SUV with a Chinese marvel is not quite right. The same Niva, although morally outdated, remains a popular car that can be disassembled and assembled independently in the field. But a car packed with electronics is difficult to repair on your own. However, when choosing a new car with a budget of up to 1 million rubles, the scales tip in favor of Xiaomi Redmi.
If you look into it, two companies are involved in the production of the “Chinese”: FAW Besturn and Xiaomi. The automotive group assembles the hybrid on the chassis of Bestune T77, while Xiaomi fills the car with electronics. Imagine a vehicle with a computer on the MIUI shell. The Chinese didn’t bother – they cloned Siri, creating a computer for controlling the Xiao Al car. It’s possible that the Xiaomi Redmi car will fully synchronize with all devices of the Chinese brand. Why not control the vehicle using the same Mi Band – an electronic key. Cool.
The Redmi novelty has been available for pre-order in China since April 3, 2019. There is no word about export to the global market in Xiaomi. But social networks in Russia are actively discussing the new car and are already ready for test drives. There is an opinion that Redmi will soon enter the Russian market. It is unknown whether officially or through smuggling. Very much looking forward to a real review and testing.
