We didn’t like this Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 right away. Instead of continuing the 8th series Note 8 and all its modifications, we got something strange and with a higher price tag. And now, a month after the start of sales, all owners of the new device have started experiencing problems.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9: Factory Defect
The essence of the problem is that, during use, graininess appears on the photos. This is caused by dust ingress into the camera module. Naturally, this is a factory defect where the manufacturer did not check the seal of the case before releasing the smartphone for sale.
The owner cannot fix the problem on their own. It requires disassembling the phone, cleaning it, properly sealing it, and conducting field tests. Only specialized professionals can do this.
Company Xiaomi – one big problem
Users learned about the factory defect a few days after the smartphone was launched for sale. The issue immediately became known on social networks: Twitter and Reddit. However, Xiaomi Corporation did not respond to negative user feedback. The silence lasted almost 2 weeks until the number of complaints exceeded 100,000. After that, the manufacturer issued an official statement to Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 owners:
- The company’s owner instructed employees to tighten quality control at Xiaomi’s satellite factories.
- Official apologies were issued to all owners.
- Xiaomi service centers located worldwide were instructed to accept all Note 9 series smartphones for repair and perform free cleaning of the camera block from dust.
Goodbye Xiaomi – it’s time for the legend to rest
What does any automotive concern do if its products are found to have a factory defect? And what do reputable electronics and household appliance manufacturers do if there are problems with their devices due to manufacturer’s fault? Correct – they recall all products of that line from the market and refund the customer. This is called maintaining authority in the global market, which must be earned.
We know that Sony, LG, Samsung, Audi, Toyota, and many other brands would do the same – recall defective products. But the Chinese, out of greed, did not. By betting on financial gain with Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, the brand revealed its true face.
In light of recent events, when Xiaomi put its own financial interests above customer interests, we do not recommend buying products from this Chinese brand. With Xiaomi, it’s time to part ways. Farewell, Chinese brand, trust is lost!
