The project "Citroen Skate" vaguely resembled the transport from the movie "I am a Robot", which attracted attention to itself. This is truly a huge breakthrough in technology, which, in a strange way, was the first to implement in France. We are already accustomed to the fact that Japan, China and the United States are leaders in this area of the industry. But now they have to move on Olympus. Or quickly acquire a technology patent. Definitely, Citroen shares will go up. This has never happened in the world.

The Citroen Skate is a platform (wheelbase suspension) for an autonomous electric vehicle. A design feature in dimensions (2600x1600x510 mm) and functionality. Citroen Skate wheels are spherical (ball). Thanks to this, the platform can move in any direction. The built-in intelligent system is responsible for autonomous control. Having set the route in advance, Citroen Skate will get to the specified place even through the city filled with cars.
The speed of the Citroen Skate platform is low - up to 25 kilometers per hour. But it can work continuously. For an autonomous system, special bases with induction charging have been developed. If they are placed around the entire perimeter of the platform movement, then everything will work automatically 24/365.
The hydraulic suspension deserves special attention. It not only softens shocks, but also reduces all vibrations to zero. Although this issue is controversial. After all, it all depends on the road surface. Not in all countries of the world the roads can boast of high quality and absence of holes.

It is clear that such an interesting innovation is designed for business. The French were never able to announce the price of the Citroen Skate. Apparently, the platform will cost more than the Ferrari. But Citroen has already come up with some interesting prototypes for the project. And what is important - installation and removal of modules on the platform takes only 10 seconds. Here are examples of using the Citroen Skate:
- Structural compartment Sofitel En Voyage. It was developed with the participation of the Accor hospitality chain. It is a module for transporting important guests. Equipped with expensive furniture, covered with velvet, has panoramic windows. There is a luggage compartment. This module can be used to transport guests, for example, from the airport to hotels.
- Pullman Power Fitness module. It is a room with exercise equipment. It is aimed at businessmen who want not to waste time visiting the gym. It's easier, on the way to work or home, to spend an hour training.
- JCDecaux City Provider Recreation Center. Such a restaurant on wheels, which can accommodate up to 5 visitors. Comfortable chairs, pleasant lighting, equipment for drinks and food. Optionally, you can add LCD TV or karaoke.
- Information module. Focused on the tourist business, where the visitor can get acquainted with information about the location, get help or assistance. As an option, it is convenient as an information block for everyone - weather, news, rest.
Generally speaking, in terms of project implementation, little is left to do. If the Citroen Skate platform gets permission from the municipality to move around the city, then it is easy to come up with an application for it. Starting with fast food and entertainment, ending with advertising companies and shopping pavilions.
Citroen Skate technology is new, interesting and has a future. Investments and orders will definitely be there. Everything now depends on the authorities, who will give permission to use the platform, or will put a spoke in the wheel. We must not forget that France is a member of the European Union.
