Xiaomi 12T Pro smartphone replaced Xiaomi 11T Pro – review

It is easy to get confused in the lines of Xiaomi smartphones. All these markings are not related to price categories at all, which is very annoying. But the buyer knows for sure that the Mi line and the T Pro consoles are flagships. Therefore, the Xiaomi 12T Pro smartphone is of great interest. Especially after the presentation, where very popular specifications were announced.

 

It is clear that with some parameters the Chinese have been tricky. Especially with a 200MP camera. But there are nice improvements, which we'll talk about in this article.

Xiaomi 12T Pro smartphone review – first impressions

 

If it was a phone from the Redmi line, then there would not be so many questions. But with the smartphone's $775 price tag, the first impression is not great compared to the 2021 model:

 

• The case has not received any design changes.
• Decreased glass protection from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus to Glass 5.
• The fingerprint scanner "moved" from the button to the screen (but this is not for everyone).
• The volumes of RAM and ROM have not changed in a big way.
• There is no wireless charging promised for flagships.
• The camera for shooting in Macro mode is degraded.
• The wide-angle camera is not finalized.
• The USB Type C interface is based on the USB 2.0 standard (low cable data rate).

With a difference of $ 200, Xiaomi 12T Pro loses in many significant characteristics to the Xiaomi 11T Pro smartphone. And this is very sad. The situation is unlikely to be saved by a marketing ploy with a 200 megapixel camera. Of the advantages of the novelty, only:

 

• Very fast charging at 120W. From 0 to 100% charges the smartphone in 17 minutes.
• Good quality and convenience of shooting video on the main camera.
• Matte surface of the back cover - the smartphone does not slip in your hands.
• High-quality sound of the built-in speakers (they are separate, you use your own for a conversation).
• More screen resolution and pixel density.
• Faster chipset.

 

If we compare all the positive aspects with the negative ones, and then remember the difference of $200, then unpleasant conclusions arise. It makes no sense for owners of Xiaomi 11T Pro smartphones to upgrade to the updated version. And new buyers better take a closer look at the previous model. Since there is nothing supernatural in the novelty. The Xiaomi 12T Pro smartphone is not the gadget that we have all been waiting for a whole year.
