Ultra-slim and portable, powerful and elegant laptop – what else can attract a businessman or a creative individual? And this is not about the famous Apple MacBook product. The company JIP has launched an interesting new product – the VAIO SX12 laptop. You heard right. The JIP Corporation (Japan Industrial Partners) bought the VAIO brand from Sony and now produces modern gadgets for entrepreneurs and youth.
VAIO SX12 Laptop: A Japanese Marvel
The presented modification is primarily interesting for its interface set. The laptop is equipped with all kinds of ports that are in demand among mobile device users:
- 3 USB 3.0 Type-A ports for connecting compatible multimedia devices (mouse, flash drive, etc.);
- 1 USB Type-C port for charging modern smartphones and tablets;
- 1 HDMI 2.0 port for connecting the laptop to display devices and audio transmission;
- 1 VGA port for connecting mobile devices to outdated TVs or monitors;
- 1 classic gigabit LAN port for wired internet or local network connection;
- 1 SD card slot (expandable with adapters);
- Full-sized 3.5mm audio jacks for microphone and headphones.
But the functionality doesn’t stop there. All laptops are equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless interfaces. There are also special versions of mobile devices equipped with an LTE modem operating in 3/4G networks. There is even a GPS module and a fingerprint scanner.
New VAIO SX12: Configuration Alternatives
VAIO mobile devices are known to fans for their touchscreen displays, which are featured in almost all laptop lines. In the SX12 version, the manufacturer did not deviate from this course. A classic 12.5-inch display with an IPS matrix and Full HD resolution (1920×1080) is complemented by a touchscreen supporting multitouch.
Choosing the model tailored to oneself from dozens of variations is an invaluable approach by the manufacturer to the customer. The VAIO SX12 laptop is like a construction set:
- Any variation among Intel 8th generation processors (Celeron, Core i3, i5, i7) is available;
- LPDDR3 RAM – 4, 8, 16 GB;
- Solid-state drive SSD 128, 256, 512, or 1024 GB.
As for graphics cards, it’s a bit different. The VAIO SX12 with a Celeron chip is equipped with an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 610. All other models have a slightly better version, UHD Graphics 620. So, gaming is not really feasible. But for work, you can find a quite interesting variation.
All this is wrapped in a licensed Windows 10 64-bit shell. Therefore, the laptop is quite fast and convenient for work. The manufacturer promises that the mobile device will last up to 14 hours on a single charge. The cost of the device, depending on the configuration chosen, ranges from 1,000 to 2,000 US dollars. For aesthetics enthusiasts, there is an option to choose different color variants.
