BlaBlaBus will compete with Flixbus in Germany

The French carrier Blablacar has announced its entry into the European bus business. From now on, BlaBlaBus will capture 19 stops in Germany. Flixbus green buses will have to give part of their income to the owner of bright red beads. Aggressive pricing and marketing can drive competitors out of the passenger market.

BlaBlaBus: service for the Germans

On its own website, the company set an attractive price - 0,99 Euro. This is the minimum fare for a trip to Germany and Europe. However, the price applies only to simple trips that begin from the end of September 2019 year.

So far, BlaBlaBus serves one route: Dresden-Berlin. Shipping prices start from 7,99 Euro. Compared to Flixbus prices, the figure still looks attractive. Flixbus spokesman Sebastian Meyer doubts that BlaBlaBus is adapting to the German market. Even a competitor’s price reduction will not force the Germans to transfer to a foreign carrier.

In addition, Flixbus operates 1700 routes in 27 countries. 100 passengers are transported daily. Over 000% of the market Germany for the transportation of passengers belongs to a German brand. Obviously, the French company BlaBlaBus will have to work hard to take away at least some share.

And knowing how the Germans are reverent about their products and brands, the French have serious problems. You may have to work at a loss for a couple of years to attract customers to green buses. Time will tell.
