Instagram: the most popular and useless social network

For the second year in a row, Instagram is considered the most popular social network in the world. Millions of users from all over the world have installed the application on mobile devices and enjoy communicating with each other. And everything looks very transparent, if you do not think about the limitations of the social network.

The Instagram project is initially aimed at sharing photos between friends. In addition, the social network allows instant messaging, comments under photos and likes. Users are offered to find interesting people through special links (hashtags) and for a fee promote business in advertising posts.

 

 

But, if we draw an analogy with other social networks, Instagram greatly limits the user in obtaining new information. Any other social network allows external links in posts to go to other Internet resources. News, interesting articles, services, products, reviews - everything falls under the complete ban. Direct links in posts are not active. A small percentage of users are ready to select a text link and copy to the browser.

And even the Instagram version for a personal computer or laptop is limited in functionality. Application developers did everything possible so that PC users could not do posts. There are, of course, plugins for browsers - but this is the wrong solution. If a social network is for everyone, then why not make support on all platforms.

 

 

The limited capabilities of the social network are noticeable even in the posts themselves, where there are restrictions on the number of characters. Brevity is the sister of talent, but important and necessary information cannot be put together in the 2 paragraph. The result is a lack of interest in reading the text under the photos. Watch people who are watching Instagram. Leafing through photographs, a person does not even read the text. A photo and a time-limited video are all that the user sees.

The lack of semantic load in the social network Instagram leads to a dullness of adults and youth. Staring at the screen, looking at attractive photos for several hours - this is not normal. But users are not aware that they are wasting valuable time on Instagram. Really there is no more important thing - to chat with friends and relatives live. Read a book, watch a movie, get acquainted with the latest in the world of technology or learn about life with your own eyes.
