Xiaomi has decided to invest $ 1.5 billion in a smart home on wheels

It's only one thing - to come up with a novelty, and another thing - to put the car on the conveyor. The news from China has cheered up the global market. Xiaomi has officially announced that it wants to invest 10 billion yuan (this is $ 1.5 billion) in an electric car “Smart home on wheels”.

 

Xiaomi is not Tesla - the Chinese love to promise

 

Remembering Elon Musk, who instantly implements any of his ideas into work projects, the statements of the Chinese do not look so convincing. After the presentation of a smart mobile home powered by electricity, the media managed to find something interesting.

The car that was presented at the presentation is not a three-dimensional model on a computer, but a real transport. It was previously released on order for a customer, whose name is not yet available to the press. The idea is interesting and practical. Plus, Xiaomi has all the blueprints and resources to make the car. The question is the price. The Chinese have modestly ignored all questions regarding the cost of the camper. This means that the price of a Xiaomi smart home is far from being in the budget class.

 

It will be interesting if Elon Musk will react to this news by launching his own campers. Given Tesla's reputation, buyers have more confidence in the brand. No offense to the Chinese brand Xiaomi, the company is a newbie in this area. And to jump so dramatically from the electronics segment to the automotive industry is a very risky business.
